महिलाओं की नसबंदी की और खुले में छोड़ दिया
एनआरएचएम योजना के तहत कार्यरत नर्सों और स्वास्थ्य कर्मचारियों ने संवाददाताओं को घटना का ब्यौरा देते हुए बताया कि माल्दा जिले के माणिकचक ग्रामीण स्वास्थ्य केंद्र में जहां कल महिलाओं का ऑपरेशन किया गया , उसमें आपरेशन के लिए जरूरी न्यूनतम सुविधाओं का अभाव था।
आधी बेहोशी की हालत में इन महिलाओं को खुले में गंदगी के बीच में खेत में छोड़ दिया गया। नर्सों ने बताया कि रास्ते से गुजरते लोग उन्हें हैरानी भरी नजरों से देख रहे थे। बताया जाता है कि ऑपरेशन कराने वाली कुछ महिलाओं को एक निश्चित अवधि तक निगरानी में रखे बिना ही वैन और रिक्शा से घर भेज दिया गया।
नसबंदी शिविर का आयोजन प्रखंड चिकित्सा अधिकारी (स्वास्थ्य) डॉक्टर जॉयदीप मजूमदार द्वारा करवाया गया था। संपर्क करने पर मुख्य चिकित्सा अधिकारी (स्वास्थ्य) माल्दा , डॉक्टर बी मिश्रा ने कहा कि ऑपरेशन करवाने वाली महिलाओं को खुले खेत में छोड़ देना 'अमानवीय' है। उन्होंने बताया कि शिविर के आयोजन के लिए विभाग से कोई मदद नहीं मांगी गई थी और वह पहले ही घटना की जांच के आदेश दे चुके हैं।

Tira Sujanpur is also called Sujanpur Tira or Sujanpur Tihra located on the bank of River Beas. It is a beautiful town inhabited by Maharaja Sansar Chand Katoch who was the King of Kangra and later shifted from Kangra to Sujanpur Tira after the war with Muslim kings who wanted to capture Kangra fort. Maharaja Sansar Chand constructed his palaces, temples and courts (called Baradari) on the peak of hillock called Tira overlooking Sujanpur's famous Chaugan, hence the name of the town is Sujanpur Tira. In the middle of this beautiful town there is one square kilometer green ground popularly called in Pahari language 'Chaugan' (which remains green throughout the year). Now part of the ground is occupied by the Sanik School. The ground is a meeting place for most of the town people, ladies, men, children for evening walk and for playing all types of games. Most famous Holi fair also takes place on this ground which lasts almost 2–3 weeks during the month of March.
Based on the caste system each side of 'Chaugan' is occupied by Brahmins, merchants (Vaishyas), Kashtriyas and Shudras. The concept is now waning off. The town has two famous temples constructed by the king which are Bansiwala ( For Lord Krishna) on one side of the ground, and Narvdeshwar on the other side towards the river Beas. One of the famous temple at Tira was destroyed during the Kangra Earthquake in 1905, as also the most of the palace buildings. Archaeological Department has tried to restore some of the monuments but not to an extent desired. It is more like whitewashing done by Archaeological Department. Many of the invaluable Kangra paintings were collected by erstwhile commissioner E.N.Mangatrai and some were returned to the museum in Chandigrah.

People of Sujanpur Tira (earlier probably called Sajjanpur due to people being nice, honest and religious-minded) are very hospitable and helpful. Though the town is nowadays thriving with activities and population in around is over 10,000. The people are highly educated and most of them know how to read and write. This town has produced many scientists, administrators, professors, doctors. Once upon a time it was the most educated town in Kangra and Himachal at large. The ruins still remind us the old paintings which exists on the temples and palaces though the passage of time and atmospheric attacks have sullened them a lot. Whatever were left were destroyed by locals by whitewashing due to their innocence.
While Sujanpurtira produced many professionals and writers, a few of them really earned name. Dr. Ishwar Das was the first IAS of 1953 batch who retired as Chief Secretary of Madhaya Pradesh; Dr Sant K. Bhatnagar a Kharagpur IITian achieved eminence in the field of Rubber Technology internationally and authored many scientific papers and religion books; Professor Uttam Chand Mahajan who achievd eminence in Astrology and wrote four books after retiring from active service as Principal, Government College, Hamirpura.

PM files affidavit in SC, says Swamy's letters duly considered
NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Saturday filed an affidavit in the SC in connection with the 2G Spectrum case. The affidavit has been filed through Director, PMO , K Vidyawati on behalf of the Prime Minister.
In the affidavit, it has been stated that there was no inaction on the part of the Prime Minister. According to the 11-page affidavit all the letters written by Subramanium Swamy have been given serious consideration by the PMO.
Various letters written by Swamy -- from the first in November 29, 2008 to the last in October 2010 -- have been dealt with in accordance with the procedure in the PMO, the affidavit states.
Earlier, at a gathering, the Prime Minister talked about the need to deal effectively with the "threats of corruption and crony capitalism", not only in India but all over the world.
Breaking his silence amidst the logjam in Parliament, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Saturday promised action against anybody for any "wrong thing" done in the 2G spectrum allocation.
He also appealed to opposition parties to allow Parliament to function, saying the government is "not afraid" of discussing any issue.
"There should be no doubt in anybody's mind that if any wrong thing has been done by anybody, he or she will be brought to book," Singh said in his first comments on the 2G spectrum issue that has paralysed Parliament for the last two weeks.
PM said various aspects of the 2G spectrum allocation are being looked into by respective investigating agencies "in the domain of their interest".

RCom, Videocon, Unitech slide on 2G spectrum probe fears
MUMBAI: Profit-booking by edgy investors upset over the government's probe into alleged irregularities in the award of 2G spectrum licences sent stocks of companies like Reliance Communications andVideocon Industries plunging by 8 per cent in early trade on the BSE today.
Anil Ambani-led telecom giant RCom has been accused by the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of not disclosing a group firm's 9.9 per cent stake in Swan Telecom, one of the operators that bagged spectrum under the 2G auction.
Swan Telecom was later sold to a consortium of Etilsalat and DB Realty and renamed as Etilsalat DB Telecom.
Shares of RCom, which have lost nearly 15 per cent in the last six trading sessions, opened on a subdued note today before tanking by 4.15 per cent to an early low of Rs 147.50 on the Bombay Stock Exchange .
Similarly, shares of realty giant Unitech and consumer durables major Videocon Industries, which have an interest in telecom brands Uninor and Datacom, respectively, also suffered, as both firms have been named in the CAG report for various discrepancies in their licence applications.
While Videocon Industries tanked by 7.84 per cent, Unitech declined by 4.28 per cent in early trade on the BSE.
Meanwhile, the 30-share BSE Sensex index was being quoted at 19,784.08 in early trade today, down 146.56 points from the previous close.
